Weiss Associates has partnered with the Oakland Public Education Fund (Ed Fund) and Hoover STEAM Elementary School in 2021 through the Adopt-an-Oakland School Program.
April 2021

Through shared values to promote healthy lifestyles and career readiness for students, volunteers from the Weiss team work with the Ed Fund and educators at Hoover STEAM to provide engaging, science-based events.
 
March kicked-off the virtual Science Read-In where volunteers shared inspiring books written by a diverse group of authors including “Sofia Valdez, Future President” by Andrew Beaty and “Hidden Figures” by Margot Lee Shetterly. 

In April, Weiss teamed up with the Ed Fund for Science Careers Week where volunteers worked to demystify the path to becoming a STEM professional. Volunteers taught fundamentals through engaging demonstrations and shared their personal journeys to becoming a Geologist, Engineer, or Scientist through pre-recorded videos and two live, virtual demonstrations to over 170 students and educators!
